Job summary

Vanguard-IP seeks a biotech-focused patent attorney or agent with strong analytical and written communication skills to join our US office. The candidate should have advanced degrees in biological sciences, experience prosecuting biologics patents, and a proven ability to conduct FTO and due diligence.

Registration to practice before the USPTO and admission to at least one State bar are required. Prior law firm experience is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior patent experience in biotechnology.


• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biological sciences, e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics, etc. Superior academic credentials.


• Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications relating to biologics or other large-molecule technologies.


• Experience in conducting searches and analyses for freedom-to-operate, IP due diligence, infringement, validity, and patent landscape assessments.


• Registration to practice before the USPTO in good standing.


• Attorneys must be admitted to at least one State bar where the firm has an office.


• Prior law firm experience required.


• Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills.


• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


• A collaborative approach, sound judgment, and a commitment to exceptional client service.
