Job summary

Westman, Champlin & Koehler, P.A. is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support attorneys with day-to-day IP and general legal tasks. This full-time, on-site role is located in Minneapolis, MN.

Duties include preparing and filing patent and trademark documents, and maintaining case materials and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have IP knowledge, strong communication, research skills, and relevant paralegal education.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field; paralegal certificate preferred.
• Experience in IP or law firm environment is beneficial.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with office software and case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and format legal documents, patent and trademark filings.
• Correspond with attorneys, clients, foreign associates, and government offices.
• Maintain electronic and physical files and docket deadlines.
• Conduct legal and factual research.
• Assist with billing and data entry into case management systems.
• Contribute to process improvements within the practice.
