Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Patent Attorney to advance intellectual property position by delivering high‑quality portfolio development and risk assessments.

You will work with R&D to identify patentable innovations and manage global portfolios through prosecution and maintenance. The role requires a JD with USPTO eligibility, strong communication, and the ability to lead discussions with senior engineers and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• JD degree and bar admission in good standing; USPTO registration.
• Physics/Optics/Engineering background preferred; other technical backgrounds considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage IP strategies aligned with business goals.
• Integrate with R&D to capture patentable innovations.
• Manage global patent portfolios from disclosure to prosecution and maintenance.
• Perform IP risk assessments and provide opinions on infringement/validity.
• Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs and related agreements.
