Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a seasoned IP professional to advance its intellectual property position in optical connectivity.

You will deliver high-quality patent portfolio development and provide risk assessments, legal opinions, and counseling on trade secrets and NDAs, leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and quality. You will partner with R&D and business teams to identify patentable innovations, manage global portfolios, and guide IP-related transactions and agreements while

Qualifications

JD degree and admission to practice before the USPTO.
BS or advanced degree in Physics, Optics, or Engineering relevant to optical connectivity.
3+ years as a practicing patent attorney; 4+ years IP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage global patent portfolios from disclosures to maintenance.
Provide IP risk assessments and legal opinions on infringement and validity.
Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs and other IP-related agreements.
Counsel business teams on information protection and confidentiality obligations.
Collaborate with R&D and business partners to identify patentable innovations.
Support transactional matters and participate in D&O or due diligence as needed.
