Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks an Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property to shape the IP strategy for New Product Introductions. You will support the Process Technology business, manage IP rights, and collaborate with senior leadership from our Charlotte, NC or Rosemont, IL locations on a hybrid schedule.

The role requires 7 years of legal IP experience, a chemistry background, and admission to practice law and before a regional patent office.

Qualifications

• 7 years of legal experience at a leading law firm or in-house.
• Background in chemistry or related field such as chemical engineering, biochemistry or materials science.
• Licensed to practice law; registered to practice before a patent office.
• Extensive IP experience with portfolio development and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of IP technology transactions including licensing and joint developments.

Responsibilities

• Provide counsel on NPI IP matters to business units and senior management.
• Oversee protection and enforcement of IP rights (patents, trade secrets, copyrights).
• Implement IP strategy for invention mining and product protection.
• Conduct freedom-to-market and product clearance reviews.
• Perform IP due diligence for M&A and other transactions.
• Contribute IP terms on contracts (joint development, licensing).
• Deliver IP training and manage external IP counsel.
