Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks an Intellectual Property Associate in Des Moines, Iowa to work with experienced attorneys on patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, prosecution, litigation, and international IP issues. You will engage directly with clients, gaining exposure across the full lifecycle of IP matters.

The role requires JD, Iowa Bar admission, USPTO Patent Bar, and 1+ years IP experience, with strong research, writing, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Iowa State Bar or ability to obtain admission promptly.
• Successful completion of the USPTO Patent Bar Exam.
• 1+ years of relevant intellectual property experience.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file patents, trademarks, and copyright applications and related documents.
• Advise clients on intellectual property rights, protection, enforcement, and licensing.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex IP issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for IP litigation.
• Communicate with co-counsel, clients, opposing counsel, and foreign associates.
• Assist with business development and client relationship initiatives.
• Collaborate with attorneys across various practice groups.
