Job summary

Itron is seeking a Software Security Engineer to drive security across software products, meters, and IoT devices. You will perform security assessments, contribute to secure development practices, and help implement security controls within SDLC and DevOps pipelines.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in application security, strong programming experience across multiple languages, and familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and security testing tools. This role offers a hybrid work model in Budapest.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Application Security.
• Knowledge of cryptographic key algorithms and network security fundamentals.
• Understanding of defense-in-depth and CIA security pillars.
• Experience with multiple programming languages: Java, C#/.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Ruby, C/C++.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in application security assessments including white-box and black-box testing, static code analysis, and code reviews.
• Help implement security measures in SDLC and DevOps pipelines.
• Collaborate with product teams to support secure development processes and promote security awareness.
• Research and propose mitigations for identified vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to the development of tools for security assessment automation.
