Job summary

Itron is seeking a Software Quality Engineer based in Liberty Lake, WA to join the DEM lab. You will set up and maintain test devices, configure network access, and coordinate across IT, security, and engineering to validate DEM software with hardware.

The role involves hands-on device setup, troubleshooting, and writing test plans to ensure product quality. You will test prototypes, report defects, and collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0-2 years of software quality assurance or testing experience.
• Experience creating test cases, executing tests, and reporting defects.
• Familiarity with Linux and Git; exposure to a programming/scripting language.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot lab devices including smart thermostats and DERs.
• Install and maintain lab network infrastructure for device operation.
• Collaborate with IT, networking, security, and engineering to ensure device connectivity and lab readiness.
• Develop and execute manual test plans and report defects.
• Communicate test results and quality risks to enable continuous product improvement.
