Job description

• Lab/Critical Facilities Expertise: 6+ years of experience designing lab automation solutions for research environments (R&D labs, life sciences, pharmaceutical facilities, or cleanrooms).
• IoT & Protocols: Deep practical experience with IoT edge gateways, time-series data management, industrial protocol converters, and high-frequency sensor ingestion.
• AI & Data Pipelines: Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models on time-series telemetry (e.g., predictive analytics for critical lab equipment).
• Enterprise integrations: Experience integrating CMMS, ERP, and EDMS data with smart building platforms
• Programming & Cloud: Proficient in Python, C/C++, Node.js, or Go; strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud).

Specialized Knowledge & Soft Skills

• Strong understanding of Lab EHS standards, specialized ventilation requirements (ACH, differential pressure), and containment protocols.
• Strong knowledge of Operations/IT security convergence, including network isolation (VLANs, Purdue Model, Zero Trust).
• Proven ability to collaborate with scientific researchers, facility engineers, enterprise IT directors, and hardware vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing digital tools for research facilities and equipment asset management (eg: Digital Twins, advanced analytics)
• Certifications in AWS/Azure Cloud Architecture, Certified IoT Professional, or TOGAF.
