Job summary

Universal Electronics Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to act as the primary technical interface to customers, coordinating with Sales and multiple engineering teams to bring hardware and software solutions to life.

The role involves evaluating architecture, writing product requirements, and guiding cost tradeoffs with the team. You will work on hardware/software integration, cloud/OS considerations, and direct customer interaction to ensure successful product development and timely

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a consumer-oriented product environment.
• Prior experience with thermostat and/or sensor tech, home automation, HVAC or IoT.
• Knowledge of RF and IP protocols (e.g. Z-Wave, ZigBee, Matter, THREAD, Wi-Fi).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and project coordination skills.
• Ability to drive progress and manage multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define the product and collaborate with software teams, product management, sales and engineering to bring the product to life.
• Coordinate product specifications for major consumer electronics and home solutions.
• Engage with customers to understand needs and align with internal teams on architecture and cost.
