This role requires an experienced engineer who remains actively involved in technical design, coding, integration, troubleshooting, and production support while guiding developers through code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing. The successful candidate will also lead Agile technical planning, support CI/CD and release management, improve development practices, and contribute to hiring, onboarding, and capability development.
1. Establish Scalable iOS Architecture and Deliver High-Quality Mobile Features. Within the first 30–90 days, assess the existing iOS architecture, codebase, and development practices to identify the most important technical improvements. Lead the design and development of assigned native iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, and appropriate architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture. Define or refine coding standards, modular design principles, state management practices, and technical design expectations while remaining actively involved in implementation. Success will be measured by acceptance of delivered features, approval of architectural decisions, adherence to agreed coding standards, and measurable progress in resolving prioritized maintainability or technical quality issues.
2. Improve Application Performance, Security, Stability, and Integration Reliability. Within the first 60–120 days, take technical ownership of assigned mobile capabilities involving REST APIs, third-party SDKs, cloud services, asynchronous processing, and local data persistence. Investigate and resolve complex issues affecting application responsiveness, memory usage, networking, reliability, or security using Xcode and appropriate diagnostic tools. Collaborate with Backend, QA, and Product teams to validate critical user journeys and ensure that implemented solutions meet functional and technical requirements. Success will be measured by successful integration testing, reduced recurring defects, achievement of agreed performance and stability targets, and verified resolution of prioritized production issues.
3. Strengthen Automated Testing, CI/CD, and Release Management. Within the first 90–150 days, assess the existing mobile testing, build, deployment, and release processes and implement approved improvements. Enhance automated validation using XCTest and improve CI/CD workflows through Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or the organization's designated tools. Work with QA and engineering stakeholders to improve build consistency, release readiness, defect prevention, and troubleshooting of deployment failures. Success will be measured by repeatable successful builds, reliable releases, improved automated coverage of agreed priority functionality, and reduced avoidable release-related issues.
4. Lead Technical Delivery and Develop the iOS Engineering Team. lead technical design discussions, Agile planning, estimation, code reviews, and engineering execution for assigned mobile initiatives. Mentor developers, resolve technical blockers, coordinate dependencies across Product, UX/UI, QA, and Backend teams, and communicate delivery progress and risks clearly. Support hiring, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and capability development while contributing to a practical technical roadmap and continuous improvement priorities. Success will be measured by delivery against agreed commitments, effective resolution of technical issues, improved engineering practices, and demonstrated growth in developer independence and technical capability.
1. Assess the Existing iOS Applications, Architecture, and Team Practices. review the native iOS codebase, architectural patterns, development tools, testing approach, CI/CD pipelines, and production support practices. Meet with iOS developers, Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, QA, and Backend teams to understand technical challenges, current priorities, and delivery constraints. Evaluate the use of Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, MVVM, and Clean Architecture to identify maintainability, performance, or engineering quality concerns.
2. Design and Implement Maintainable Native iOS Features. , lead the technical design of assigned iOS features and personally contribute production-quality Swift code. Apply appropriate SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, MVVM, and Clean Architecture practices while considering the existing application structure and business requirements. Conduct technical design reviews and code reviews to ensure that new functionality follows agreed engineering standards and supports maintainability.
3. Integrate APIs, Manage Asynchronous Workflows, and Optimize Performance. guide the integration of REST APIs, third-party SDKs, cloud services, and local persistence capabilities into assigned application workflows. Use Async/Await, Combine, Core Data, and other relevant iOS technologies to implement reliable asynchronous operations and data handling.
