Job Summary
The IOP Family Therapist is responsible for providing individual and family therapy services to adolescents ages 8-18 y/o in the IOP program. This position may also include assisting with providing group therapy services as needed for coverage. The clinician is held accountable for all related clinical, administrative, and Quality and Compliance responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities And Metrics
- Facilitate individual, family and crisis sessions to a caseload of children, adolescents, and their caregivers.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions as needed to aid with coverage.
- Facilitate family support and psychoeducational groups.
- Provide support to clients and family members to help promote achievement of treatment plan goals and encourage progress throughout the program.
- Educate family members about effective ways to support children and adolescents, including following through with safety plans, encouraging skill use at home, increasing positive communication, addressing family dynamics, and creating home contracts related to behaviors/rules/expectations within the home environment. This could be provided through individual, family, group, or support group sessions.
- Coordinate with other team members to provide relevant clinical information from sessions to support clients in group settings.
- Communicate and coordinate with external providers as needed and assist with creating effective discharge plans.
- Complete clinical documentation daily in CIS.
- Participate in weekly supervision, IOP Team Rounds, and as-needed consultations.
- Achieve 50% productivity expectations with a caseload of IOP Family and outpatient clients.
Qualifications
- Have two years post-master’s family therapy experience (required).
- Fluent in Spanish (strongly preferred).
- Possess core skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) (preferred).
- Hold licenses or certifications such as LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT (preferred).
- Have prior experience working with children and adolescents in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential settings (preferred).
