Job summary

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery is seeking passionate counselors and social workers to provide office-based behavioral health services to clients. The Addiction Counselor handles screening, assessment, treatment planning, education, referral and documentation as part of a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment.

Full-time hours are provided with opportunities for professional growth and involvement in CQI activities.

Qualifications

• Three years of treatment or recovery experience required.
• Ohio LCDCII license required; LPC/LSW or higher is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively work with a diverse client population.

Summary:

The Addiction Counselor is responsible for routine duties of a Counselor, including, but not limited to, screening, assessment, treatment planning, education, referral, and documentation.

Essential Functions:

Delivery of high-quality, effective services to clients assigned to caseload and to meet appropriate clinical standards of care. Delivery of clinical services including individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, intensive outpatient services, requesting urinalysis, non-medical community residential services, consultation, referral and information, intervention, hotline, training, outreach, crisis intervention, case management and adjunctive alcohol and drug services. Assessment (excluding diagnosis) and treatment planning including assessment of client’s strengths and weaknesses, developing treatment plans to prioritize and address identified problems, examining alternative solutions and developing plans of action.

Oversight of each case assigned to caseload. Orienting the client to the program, clinical reviews and clinical staffing, discharge planning and completion of daily progress notes. Engaging the family of each client in the family treatment program. Delivery of program components as assigned. Weekly contact with referral sources for clients assigned to caseload. Completion of all CQI data collection and implementation of all CQI corrective actions as assigned. Monthly participation in the Utilization Review and Peer Review programs. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

General Requirements:

Must adhere to the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board’s Chemical Dependency Code of Ethics, demonstrate an understanding of addiction as an illness, and have three years of treatment or recovery experience. If in recovery, must have at least one year of continuous sobriety. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.

Educational Requirements:

Associate Degree with emphasis on Addictions Treatment and Prevention or equivalent preferred.

Certification Requirements:

Must reside in Ohio and possess a valid clinical license in the state of Ohio. LCDCII required. LPC, LSW or higher credential a plus.

Amount of Travel:

Minimal, mostly confined to local travel.

Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 1pm - 9pm, Friday 8am - 4pm.

Salary Range:

Placement within the pay scale is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
