Job Summary
The IOP Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations, clinical oversight, and coordination of an Intensive Outpatient Program serving individuals with substance use disorders in a hospital-based setting. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care through direct clinical services, program development, and staff collaboration. The Coordinator facilitates group and individual therapy, oversees treatment planning and documentation, and serves as the primary liaison between the IOP team, hospital leadership, and community providers. Additionally, the Coordinator plays a key role in bridging care between the IOP and inpatient medical floors, supporting patients with substance use disorders who are hospitalized for medical conditions and coordinating transitions into appropriate levels of care, including the IOP. This position monitors program outcomes, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and fosters a recovery-focused, trauma-informed environment. The ideal candidate is a licensed behavioral health professional with experience in addiction treatment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and navigating care transitions within a hospital setting.Qualifications
Clinical Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing clinical services to individuals with substance use disorders (SUD).
Experience in group therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT for SUD, and/or other evidence-based addiction treatment modalities.
Program Coordination or Case Management
Experience in coordinating care or managing programming within a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting.
Familiarity with IOP-level care or higher (PHP, residential, inpatient).
Team Collaboration
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and peer recovery coaches.
Proven ability to navigate communication between clinical teams, administration, and community providers.
Regulatory and Documentation Standards
Familiarity with documentation standards, including progress notes, treatment planning, and discharge summaries.
Knowledge of hospital-based compliance, billing procedures, and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2).
Licensure (preferred)
Licensure or certification in a behavioral health field (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LADC I/II, CADC, or similar) in the state of Massachusetts.
