Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center is seeking an experienced professional to perform neurophysiology/intraoperative monitoring across a range of complex surgeries. You will work with minimal supervision to ensure accurate monitoring and timely communication with the surgical team.

Responsibilities include developing and applying software/procedures to optimize monitoring, maintaining high-quality recordings, and troubleshooting equipment issues to prevent waveform loss during critical procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field required/preferred.
  • National Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring certification upon hire.
  • Experience with networking and computer programming.

  • Perform all modalities of Neurophysiology/Neurovascular and Intraoperative Monitoring with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor cerebellopontine angle tumor surgery, intracranial tumor/aneurysm procedures, spinal surgeries, and peripheral nerve surgeries.
  • Develop, select, and implement software and procedures for optimal monitoring.
  • Provide adequate recordings and troubleshoot technical issues; inform surgeons/physicians of significant changes including waveform loss.

Description

Performs all modalities of Neurophysiology/Neurovascular and other Intraoperative Monitoring with minimal supervision.

Specifically this will include, but is not limited to: cerebellopontine angle tumor surgery, intracranial tumor and aneurysm surgery/procedures, spinal surgeries including surgery for spinal deformity, thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery, and peripheral nerve surgeries. Participates in the development, selection, and implementation of software and procedures needed to provide optimal monitoring. Provides adequate recordings with proficiency in troubleshooting technical problems, keeps the surgeons and IOM physicians informed of any significant changes, including the loss of waveforms being monitored.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree BS in Neuroscience preferred
  • Upon hire: National Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring
  • Experience with networking and computer programming
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a scientific discipline related to the biological sciences and specifically to Neuroscience
  • 2 years Intraoperative Monitoring experience
  • Experience in neurophysiology and neuroanatomy

Pay Range

Base pay range: $44.35 – $68.86. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
