Job description

Description

The Senior Equity Analyst will be part of the Office of the CIO Equity Team, which manages the firm’s home office equity strategies and supports wealth teams across Citizens Wealth. This is a seasoned, bottom-up research role for an analyst who will independently cover a broad universe of U.S. large-cap equities as a sector generalist, generate data-backed investment ideas for the strategies, and serve as a senior single-stock resource for advisors and an extension of the advisory team. The role is designed for an experienced analyst who independently sets their research agenda, develops and defends investment recommendations, and delivers with minimal oversight while contributing effectively within a small, highly collaborative investment team.

Primary responsibilities include
  • Conduct in-depth, bottom-up research across a broad universe of U.S. large-cap equities, assessing financial performance, competitive positioning, and growth prospects through financial statement analysis, earnings coverage, valuation, and financial modeling.
  • Independently originate and deliver frequent, data-backed investment ideas for the equity strategies and advisors, considering company fundamentals, industry dynamics, sector and macro conditions, and portfolio positioning, including differentiated perspectives on existing holdings and new investment candidates.
  • Serve as a core member of the investment team focused on delivering competitive long-term results versus the S&P 500, contributing stock views, pitches, and original research that shape what the strategies own.
  • Act as a senior equity resource to advisors firmwide on individual stocks, industries, sectors, and macro developments, responding to ad hoc requests with speed and accuracy.
  • Author earnings commentary, investment write-ups, and white papers covering investment thesis, valuation, growth drivers, catalysts, and risks for internal investment and advisor audiences.
  • Apply prudent, well-governed AI tools to scale research capacity, accelerate analysis and content production, and surface investment insights, with human judgment applied to every output.
  • Apply expert Excel skills to organize and manipulate data supporting strategy objectives, including modeling, screening, research, compliance, new business, and due diligence.
  • Deliver stock pitches, investment views, and strategy positioning to the equity team, wealth teams, senior leadership, and large internal audiences.
  • Maintain an ongoing research discipline through company and industry research, earnings analysis, and market monitoring to continuously deepen expertise, broaden coverage, and identify new investment opportunities.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of direct single-stock research experience covering U.S. equities, sell-side or buy-side, with a demonstrated track record of deep fundamental analysis.

  • Broad working knowledge of the U.S. large-cap universe, paired with the ability to build genuine depth on a company or industry quickly and repeatedly across sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently generate, pitch, and defend investment ideas to senior investors.
  • Strong investment writing capabilities, including the ability to develop commentary and research that clearly communicates investment thesis, valuation, catalysts, growth drivers, and risks.
  • Established presentation and public-speaking ability, with experience communicating investment views to advisors, clients, senior investors, or large professional audiences.
  • Genuine passion for equity markets, with the intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to continuously pursue new investment ideas, challenge consensus, deepen expertise, and deliver high-quality research without requiring day-to-day direction.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to scale research, analysis, and due diligence while applying appropriate judgment and oversight.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • CFA designation required.
