This role will evaluate investment managers, strategies, performance, market trends, and portfolio considerations to develop insights and recommendations that support investment selection, portfolio construction, and allocation decisions.

In this role you will perform both qualitative and quantitative investment analysis, including evaluation of manager organizations, investment strategies, track records, portfolio construction, risk factors, and relative performance. The role will synthesize financial, market, and manager information into investment research, analytics, and recommendations for consideration by the Investment team.

In addition to manager research, you will conduct research on asset classes, industries, companies, and macroeconomic trends relevant to alternative investment strategies and portfolio positioning. This role will also contribute to the continued development of the team's research capabilities through improved analytical tools, data management, AI-enabled workflows, and other technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative due diligence on external investment managers across private equity, private credit, private real assets, and hedge funds.
  • Evaluate investment strategies, organizations, performance, portfolio construction, risk, and competitive positioning to identify key considerations and opportunities.
  • Perform investment analysis including benchmarking, peer comparisons, performance analysis, financial modeling, and evaluation of market and portfolio data.
  • Develop manager research, investment summaries, and recommendations to support manager selection, portfolio construction, and allocation decisions.
  • Monitor approved managers and strategies, including performance, organizational developments, portfolio changes, and other factors impacting the investment thesis.
  • Research asset classes, market trends, industries, and macroeconomic developments and assess their implications for alternative investment strategies.
  • Prepare and present investment research, market insights, and strategy materials to the Investment team and other stakeholders.
  • Enhance research processes through improved analytics, data management, AI, and technology-enabled workflow solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred; relevant investment experience, demonstrated aptitude, and a strong commitment to learning are valued over a specific field of study.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in investment research, investment management, asset management, manager research, portfolio analysis, alternative investments, or a related investment discipline.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative investment research, due diligence, financial analysis, and/or performance evaluation.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and investment principles, with demonstrated experience analyzing complex financial and investment information.
  • Analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to develop and clearly articulate investment conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with investment professionals and other stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards, sound judgment, and commitment to fiduciary responsibility and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI and technology to improve research, analysis, workflow efficiency, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with external manager research, selection, due diligence, or monitoring across alternative investment strategies.
  • Experience with investment databases, financial data platforms, performance analytics, or portfolio analysis tools.
  • Experience developing or presenting investment research and recommendations to investment professionals or decision-makers.
