Job summary

Cetera Financial Group Inc is seeking an Investment Research Analyst to support portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment strategy development through a mix of traditional research, quantitative analysis, and data insights.

You will partner with portfolio managers to deliver actionable recommendations, automate data collection, and develop reports and visualizations for internal stakeholders, while staying current on market trends and advances in investment research and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in financial analysis, investment research, or quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of portfolio theory, asset allocation, and capital markets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience in an RIA, asset management, wealth management, or financial analytics environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on macroeconomic trends, asset classes, investment products, and market developments.

The Investment Research Analyst will support portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment strategy development through a combination of traditional investment research, quantitative analysis, and data insights. This role partners closely with portfolio managers and investment professionals to deliver actionable recommendations that support client outcomes and firm objectives.

What You Will Do

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on macroeconomic trends, asset classes, investment products, and market developments.
• Analyze investment opportunities and provide insights that support portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions.
• Build and maintain financial models to evaluate investment strategies, risk factors, and return characteristics.
• Partner with portfolio managers and investment teams to develop research-driven recommendations.

What You Need to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in performing financial analysis, investment research, or quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of investment concepts, portfolio theory, asset allocation, and capital markets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Prior experience within an RIA, asset management firm, wealth management organization, or financial analytics environment preferred.

The base annual salary range for this role is $92,000-$110,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
