First Merchants Bank in Indianapolis is seeking a Credit Analyst I - Investment Real Estate to join our team. This role conducts credit analyses, underwriting and ongoing monitoring of the commercial loan portfolio.

You will perform cash flow analyses, assign risk ratings, review appraisals and leverage analytical tools to support loan decisions. This position collaborates with loan committees as needed and contributes to risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience performing credit analyses and underwriting for commercial loans.
• Ability to monitor loan portfolios and perform financial statement analysis.
• Familiarity with real estate valuations and appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit analyses, including cash flow analysis and credit decision summaries.
• Monitor designated portfolio; spread financials, test covenants, monitor marketable securities.
• Assign call codes, NAICS codes, risk grades and risk ratings.
• Review appraisals and real estate evaluations.
• Utilize financial spreading software, loan systems and other credit tools.
• Attend loan committees as requested.
