Job Location & Employment Type
Employment Type: Full-Time
Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level (Title flexible: Associate, Senior Associate, or Principal based on candidate profile)
We are seeking an ambitious investor—not just an analyst—who wants to grow with our firm over the long term. You will work closely with the partners across the complete investment lifecycle: from sourcing and underwriting emerging early-stage venture fund managers (GPs) to evaluating late-stage co-investments, all while building a strong personal presence across the Silicon Valley ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- GP Sourcing: Build, maintain, and manage a high-quality pipeline of early-stage venture fund managers (GPs) through proactive networking, founder/investor referrals, and ecosystem integration.
- GP Underwriting & Due Diligence: Conduct end-to-end due diligence on fund managers—evaluating track records (IRR, TVPI, DPI), fund strategy, team dynamics, and portfolio construction—and author investment memos with actionable recommendations.
- Relationship Building: Nurture deep, long-term relationships with GPs, co-investors, and institutional LPs.
- Co-Investment Analysis: Evaluate late-stage co-investment opportunities sourced from portfolio GPs. Assess company fundamentals, valuation benchmarks, and deal terms, present recommendations to the Investment Committee, and track portfolio performance post-investment.
- Ecosystem Representation: Serve as a core ambassador for the firm at venture industry events, GP meetings, and investor summits.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of key trends across early-stage venture strategies, deep tech, energy, defense, and emerging sectors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: ~4 years of relevant investing experience within a Fund of Funds, Venture Capital firm, Family Office, or similar institutional investment platform. Direct exposure to GP diligence and co-investments is strongly preferred.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the US and Silicon Valley early-stage venture ecosystem and emerging fund manager landscape.
- Network & Judgment: Proven ability to build and sustain trust-based relationships with fund managers and co-investors.
- Communication & Maturity: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders, partners, and institutional investors.
- Investor Mindset: High intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and hands‑on capability in quantitative track record evaluation and deal structuring.
- Long-Term Commitment: Intent to build a multi-year career path with the firm.
- Background at a smaller early-stage fund/micro-VC ($30M–$40M AUM range) or a lean family office with end-to-end exposure.
- Cross-border exposure or familiarity with international ecosystems (e.g., India, Southeast Asia, or broader Asia).
- Sector familiarity in emerging domain areas like energy, defense tech, or frontier technology.
- Base Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 USD (commensurate with experience and level)
- Upside: Fund carry / performance incentive participation
