Job summary

Nextera Search Group in New York City is seeking an experienced Operations Associate to join an Investment Management Firm’s operations team. You will manage daily trade processing, investment setup, settlements, and risk controls across multiple asset classes.

The role requires 2+ years in investment operations, strong Excel and Bloomberg skills, and a proven ability to work independently with tight deadlines. Excellent communication with counterparties is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience in investment operations, fund administration, accounting, or related financial role.
• Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Bloomberg.
• Familiarity with securities, derivatives, and alternative investments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines while exercising sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and take ownership of deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience coordinating with external counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily trade processing and investment setup, investigating discrepancies and coordinating timely resolution.
• Support transaction settlements and ongoing investment activity across multiple asset classes.
• Process cash movements and related documentation accurately within established deadlines.
• Reconcile cash balances and positions with external service providers, resolving outstanding differences.
• Coordinate account openings, onboarding documentation, and system access with internal teams and external partners.
• Respond to due diligence requests and support audit inquiries.
• Assist with month-end reconciliations, reporting, and other operational deliverables.
• Maintain procedures and controls to support accurate processing and effective risk management.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate manual tasks.
• Collaborate with investment and business support teams to resolve issues and support daily operations.
