Job description

Palo Duro Investment Partners seeks an Investment Operations Associate to be part of the team which handles post trade administration supporting equity trading, among other responsibilities.

About the Role

The Associate will be primarily responsible for post-trade processing, exception handling, trade break and fail management, issue escalation and resolution for the domestic trading markets. This position will interact regularly with internal resources, clients, and external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Administer the post-execution processing for securities transactions.
• Match, affirm and confirm securities transactions with custodians, fund administrators and executing brokers.
• Setup and maintain system parameters, fee defaults, settlement cycles and related broker, client and custodian attributes to facilitate straight through securities post-trade processing.
• Facilitate and monitor the daily trade file transmission, receipt and acknowledgements processes with external parties.
• Review trade files for completeness, investigate and resolve trade breaks, or pending fails while escalating issues appropriately and work towards resolutions in a timely manner.
• Ensure that trading counterparties reflect matching trade details in accordance with the firm’s books and records.
• Maintain proper supporting documentation related to trade processing to ensure compliance with market regulations and internal policies.
• Monthly Client Reporting: performance, NAVs, attribution, etc.
• Onboarding of new accounts: key documentation, and technological integration of internal and external systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years investment management industry experience or relevant experience in an operational or trade processing capacity preferred.
• In depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in securities operations or trade processing. Public Equities experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail required, high degree of client service.
• Excellent communicator and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle fast-paced and high pressure situations and show a high degree of client service; highly organized, proactive and possesses strong follow-through.
• Experience with execution and order management systems, trade matching platforms, portfolio or investment accounting systems, security master and reference data management preferred.
