Job summary

Northwestern University is seeking an Investment Manager to join its Investment Office in Evanston, IL. The role focuses on manager selection, security selection, portfolio construction, and risk management, with emphasis on collaboration and building the future team through Analysts and Interns.

The position requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree (MBA/CFA preferred), and willingness to travel for due diligence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and build investment manager relationships with a partnership orientation.
  • Source and evaluate investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies.
  • Evaluate co-investments, continuation vehicles and other direct investments.
  • Contribute to portfolio construction and risk management, including asset allocation and exposure management.
  • Participate in Investment Committee meetings and decision-making across asset classes.
  • Travel frequently to meet with investment managers and conduct on-site due diligence.
  • Participate in Analyst and Intern hiring and management.
