Job summary

Northwestern Mutual Investment Management Company, LLC in Milwaukee, WI seeks a credit researcher to conduct independent fundamental research in non-financial sectors and deliver forward-looking relative value assessments aligned with portfolio strategy and return objectives.

You will work with the Head of Credit Research, Portfolio Managers and Traders, develop external relationships, and promote high ethical standards while applying data science tools to generate actionable investment ideas.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of credit analysis experience in a non-financials sector.
• Demonstrated command of relative value in a total return mandate.
• MBA or MS preferred; CFA forward progress highly regarded.
• Bachelor's in finance, accounting, economics, statistics or related field.
• Strong analytical, financial statement analysis and credit recommendation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough fundamental credit analysis on investments in assigned issuers, including financial statement analysis and credit ratings profile.
• Determine relative value of issuers and bonds vs. peers and provide investment recommendations.
• Produce concise written research and verbally present credit strengths and risks to PMs and traders.
• Develop external relationships with Wall Street analysts, rating agencies and independent research firms.
• Collaborate with Investment Strategy, Risk & Operations, Compliance and Law teams.
• Promote ethical standards and process improvements through data-driven approaches.
