Job summary

Morgan Lewis seeks a Business Development Director to lead growth for the Investment Management practice, working with leadership and lawyers to identify opportunities and execute on growth initiatives. The role requires deep industry knowledge and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.

You will collaborate across offices to drive cross-practice initiatives, oversee a team, and manage budgets while delivering thought leadership and market visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college; MBA, other advanced degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant business development, strategy, client development, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with investment management, asset management, private funds, financial services, or related industries strongly preferred; law firm or other professional-services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development for the Investment Management practice, partnering with leadership to set growth priorities and execute plans.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership and lawyers on client development, market positioning, and growth opportunities.
• Develop a deep understanding of clients, capabilities, and priority markets and lead targeting and relationship-development initiatives.
• Monitor industry developments and analyze client, pipeline, and market data to identify opportunities and translate insights into strategies.
• Drive initiatives from identification through execution with clear objectives, timelines, and accountability.
• Develop executive-level reports, analyses, and recommendations addressing performance and market developments.
• Identify and advance thought leadership, events, campaigns, and other profile-raising activities in partnership with Marketing.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practices to identify cross-selling and cross-collaboration opportunities.
