Job summary

Watts & Associates seeks an Investment Management Associate for its national Am Law 100 platform, with offices in Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; New York, NY and additional locations. The role is hybrid with a base salary of $260,000–$435,000 plus bonus.

The successful attorney will handle sophisticated private-fund formation and investment-management matters for private fund sponsors, asset managers and institutional investors, working closely with partners and senior attorneys

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–8 years of substantive investment funds and asset management experience.
• Experience handling private-fund formation and investment-management matters for sophisticated clients.
• Strong drafting, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet demanding deadlines.
• Excellent communication with sponsors, institutional investors and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Advise sponsors and investment managers on fund formation, launches, closings and ongoing operations.
• Draft and negotiate partnership agreements, subscription materials and side letters.
• Support regulatory, governance and investor-relations matters across private and registered products.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams on complex fund structures.
• Coordinate with attorneys across offices and practice areas.
