New York Life Investment Management is seeking an Investment Accountant to support portfolios, joint ventures, and fund accounting within the NYL REI platform in San Francisco. You will reconcile monthly distributions, funding, and reports in GAAP, collaborating with property accountants and internal teams.

Candidates should have 1–4 years in investment or real estate accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Yardi and Excel.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1–4 years of investment accounting, fund accounting, or real estate accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of partnership accounting and capital reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Yardi and advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of GAAP and experience working with auditors.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines.

Mansioni

• Review monthly income distribution, capital funding and third-party property accountant reports in GAAP.
• Perform monthly intercompany cash clearing reconciliation; quarterly capital funding reconciliation for asset reports and NOI analysis.
• Understand SLR rent processes and identify/report errors.
• Collaborate with Asset/Property Management, Tax, and auditors to support audits and tax compliance.
• Analyze and resolve discrepancies in capital accounts, distributions, and partner equity transactions.
• Assist in process improvements to improve accounting workflows and accuracy.
• Maintain documentation and adherence to internal controls and policies.
• Support ad hoc accounting projects as needed.
