Garry Executive Search has been retained by a Minneapolis-area wealth management firm, recognized as a Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Team for 2026, to recruit a Director of Investments to lead portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment research. The candidate will partner with advisors, lead the Investment Committee, and expand into alternatives and direct indexing.

3–10 years in fund analysis/portfolio management, SIE, Series 6, 63, 7 licenses; CFA/CIMA preferred but not

Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years of experience in fund analysis, fund research, or portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of investment philosophy, portfolio management process, and asset allocation models.
• Conduct research and due diligence across funds, ETFs, SMAs, and alternatives; lead manager selection and monitoring.
• Analyze client portfolios and provide investment recommendations, including performance, risk, and benchmark comparisons.
• Partner with advisors on complex cases, including concentrated positions, tax considerations, and retirement income strategies.
• Execute monthly trades and quarterly rebalancing; process advisory paperwork, transfers, and funding.
• Lead Investment Committee and mentor staff on investment matters.
• Present investment strategy and alternatives to clients.
