Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager for a 6‑month contract with extension potential in the investment management space. Hybrid work with 2–3 days onsite weekly in New York/Boston, focusing on MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, and data/privacy agreements.

You will negotiate terms, manage multiple vendor relationships, and ensure compliance across investment data, analytics, and technology services, with collaboration across Legal and Procurement.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in commercial contract management, procurement, or contracts‑focused legal work.
• Direct experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating third‑party service agreements.
• Experience within an investment environment (asset manager, funds, data providers, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of liability, indemnification, data handling, termination, service credits, privacy, and information security.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, order forms, amendments, information security agreements, and data privacy/processing agreements.
• Negotiate with vendor commercial and legal contacts on liability, indemnification, data handling, termination, service credits, and other terms.
• Support new agreements and renewals across investment data, analytics, fund administration, managed services, technology, and staff augmentation.
• Translate contractual rights, obligations, and risks into practical business requirements with business owners.
• Collaborate with Global Procurement, Legal, Third Party Risk Management, Information Security, and Data Privacy to move agreements through reviews.
• Investigate and resolve contract‑related issues involving service performance, invoicing, scope, and credits.
• Maintain accurate contract records including executed agreements, amendments, renewal dates, and spend commitments.
• Monitor consumption against entitlements such as software licenses, data feeds, redistribution rights, and pricing models.
• Track expirations and prepare negotiation positions before renewal cycles.
• Manage multiple agreements and deadlines while supporting time‑sensitive investment operations.
