The Opportunity

Our client is a specialist US investment bank advising high-growth and established technology businesses on mergers and acquisitions, growth capital and strategic transactions.

Based in Silicon Valley, the firm operates with lean deal teams, providing junior and mid-level bankers with significant transaction responsibility, direct exposure to senior leadership and meaningful client interaction.

As the firm expands its investment banking team, we are seeking experienced Analysts and Associates with strong M&A execution experience who are looking to progress within a highly entrepreneurial, transaction-focused environment.

This opportunity is particularly suited to third-year Analysts seeking to step into an Associate position, or existing Associates looking for greater responsibility and direct involvement in live transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution workstreams across sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, working directly with senior investment bankers and clients.
• Develop and review detailed financial models, valuation analyses, transaction structures and supporting financial materials.
• Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, investment materials and other transaction documentation.
• Coordinate transaction processes, including due diligence, data room management, buyer outreach and communication with external advisers.
• Conduct industry research, company analysis and strategic assessments to support transaction execution and business development.
• Take ownership of key analytical and execution deliverables, managing competing priorities across multiple live transactions.
• Support the development and supervision of junior analysts, providing technical guidance and reviewing work products.
• Work closely with senior bankers on transaction strategy, client presentations and the development of new business opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

• 2-4 years of investment banking experience, ideally gained in an M&A execution role at a bulge bracket, elite boutique, middle-market or specialist advisory firm.
• Experience in technology, software or technology-enabled services is strongly preferred. Candidates from other sectors with substantial M&A execution experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrable involvement in live transactions, including financial modelling, valuation, transaction documentation and due diligence.
• Strong understanding of M&A processes, transaction structures and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities, with excellent analytical and presentation skills.
• Ability to take ownership of transaction workstreams and operate effectively within lean deal teams.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the commercial judgement required to interact with senior colleagues and clients.
• US work authorisation and FINRA Series 63 and 79 registration.
