Job summary

Texas Permanent School Fund seeks an Investment Analyst with up to two years of experience in investment banking, endowment investing, asset management, or related roles. These openings span several investment strategies including venture capital, private and public credit, and absolute return strategies.

You’ll support due diligence, market research, and investment analysis, collaborating with senior investment professionals to evaluate opportunities and monitor portfolio risk and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
• Up to 2 years in investment banking, finance, consulting or investing.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of credit metrics and capital structures.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, PitchBook, Power BI or Tableau.

• Investment Due Diligence & Portfolio Support: support due diligence on prospective investments and monitor portfolio developments.
• Market & Investment Research: research companies, industries, markets and trends to identify risks and opportunities.

WhatYou’llDo

Investment Due Diligence & Portfolio Support

• Support due diligence on prospective investments, investment managers, and co-investment opportunities across public and private markets
• Evaluate investment opportunities through company, industry, manager, and market research alongside senior investment professionals
• Monitor existing investments and assess performance, risk, exposures, and other relevant portfolio developments
• Prepare investment materials and analysis to support investment recommendations and portfolio decisions
• Assist senior investment professionals with portfolio management, investment monitoring, and program administration

Market & Investment Research

• Research companies, industries, investment managers, markets, and emerging themes to identify potential risks and opportunities
• Conduct macroeconomic, market, and strategy-specific research to support investment decisions
• Analyze trends across public and private markets, including venture capital, credit, public equities, and absolute return strategies

Financial & Investment Analysis

• Perform financial and investment analysis appropriate to the strategy, including company analysis, credit analysis, manager evaluation, and investment modeling
• Analyze financial statements, business fundamentals, capital structures, investment performance, and risk
• Develop portfolio and investment analyses assessing factors such as performance, liquidity, risk, exposures, and underlying fundamentals

Operations & Administrative Support

• Providegeneral supportto the team on a day-to-day basis
• Maintain thorough records for both public and private credit strategies

WhatWe’reLooking For

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Up to 2 years in investment banking, finance, consulting or investing
• Strong financial modeling and excel skills
• Strong understanding of credit metrics and capital structures

Preferred butnotrequired

• Progress toward CFA, CAIA, or equivalent finance certifications
• PowerPoint and Presentation skills

• Awareness of economic indicators and market trends

Travel/Schedule Requirements

• Domestic up to 10%.
• Hybrid office/telework schedule.
• Ability to work/travel outside of normal business hours.
