Job summary

Assured Guaranty Ltd. in New York seeks a Staff Accountant to review and reconcile investment accounting data, prepare monthly journal entries, and support investment reports and analytics.

You will work with multiple departments during monthly and quarterly closes, handle reconciliations between systems and custodians, and assist audits and special projects. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2–3 years of accounting experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience (investment accounting/operations is a plus).
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting and financial systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for monthly/quarterly close processes.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong work ethic and analytical skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and function independently.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and reconciling daily trade activity.
• Reconciling par reconciliation between accounting system and custodian banks.
• Performing system data integrity checks prior to the monthly and quarterly close.
• Assist in preparing internal supporting schedules for both STAT and GAAP.
• Assist with audits of the company records, working with internal and external auditors.
• Assisting managers and co-workers with special projects.
