STRS Ohio seeks an Investment Accountant I for the Finance/Finance Investments team in Columbus to manage cash settlements and reconciliations. You will verify trades against custodian records, process cash transactions, and maintain supporting documents with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include month-end close support, earnings calculations for defined contribution plans, and collaboration with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper accounting

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or two years’ relevant college coursework preferred.
• 1–3 years’ related experience preferred; investment accounting experience and knowledge of diverse investments preferred.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet applications required.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external contacts.
• Strong organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and standard office equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Aufgaben

• Process cash settlements from trading and investment activity against custodian records and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform daily domestic and global cash and bank reconciliations and monitor discrepancies.
• Process cash transactions: ACH, wires, lockboxes, income, payments, transfers, and tax receipts.
• Identify, track and code investment-related transactions from bank activity.
• Maintain reconciliation workbooks and provide required reporting including Treasurer and Census Bureau filings.
• Perform defined contribution plan reconciliations and earnings calculations.
• Monitor securities lending income and related fees, in line with agreements.
• Support month-end close, reporting validation, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct accounting treatment and assist audits and regulatory requests.
• Assist with departmental projects and process improvements.
