Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting or portfolio accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and investments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Envestnet Tamarac preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop procedures for portfolio accounting with internal team and Tamarac.
  • Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation of portfolio positions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between systems, custodians and sponsors.
  • Reconcile cash and market valuations across accounts and platforms.
  • Maintain reconciliation controls and document audit trails.
  • Coordinate pricing issues with advisors and managers.
  • Collaborate with tax and compliance on reporting obligations.
  • Use technology to improve accounting systems and workflows.

The Investment Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of investment portfolios. This role requires an understanding of investment strategies, portfolio accounting, and data reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the internal team and Envestnet Tamarac (portfolio accountingsystem) to develop procedures and guidelines for portfolio accounting.
  • Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation of portfolio positions againstcustodian and outside investments.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal systems, custodians,fund sponsors, and counterparties.
  • Reconcile cash and market valuations across multiple accounts and platforms.
  • Maintain reconciliation controls and document exception resolutions withproper audit trails.
  • Monitor stale or missing prices and coordinate resolution with advisors andportfolio managers.
  • Partner with portfolio managers, traders, and advisors to ensure accurate datafor reporting.
  • Liaise with tax and compliance on regulatory requirements and reportingobligations.
  • Utilize technology to make improvements to accounting systems, workflows,and processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required; CPAdesignation preferred
  • 3+ years applicable work experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and investments
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Envestnet/Tamarac preferred, but not required
  • Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively withclients, colleagues and vendors
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
