Investment Accountant
The Investment Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting activities related to the company's investment portfolio. This role requires a thorough understanding of investment accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the financial services industry and a proven track record of maintaining accurate and timely financial records.
Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile investment accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of investment transactions, including purchases, sales, interest, dividends, and gains/losses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports related to the investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Perform valuations of investment securities and assess their impact on financial statements. Analyze investment performance and provide insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SEC, FINRA, and other relevant bodies. Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and reports.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls over investment accounting processes. Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to established controls and policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries related to investment accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliation tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships
