The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is seeking a supervisor for the Property and Casualty Complaint Unit in Baltimore. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, or related fields.
  • Five years experience in the Property and Casualty insurance industry as an investigator, adjuster, underwriter or agent.
  • Nine years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry as an investigator, adjuster, underwriter or agent may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
  • Possession of a J.D. degree and four years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry as an investigator, adjuster, underwriter or agent may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of investigators to ensure timely and proper resolution of consumer complaints.
  • Completely reviews all files before closure to verify handling and determinations.
  • Reviews correspondence for content, spelling and grammar; assists in problem resolution.
  • Speaks with consumers and insurers as needed and prepares files for conference discussion.
