Job summary

The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) seeks a Senior Financial Analyst I for the Financial Regulation Division to lead solvency oversight of insurers operating in Maryland. You will analyze annual and quarterly statements, investigate risks, and prepare summaries for regulatory findings.

Responsibilities include reviewing analysts' work products and ensuring issues are properly addressed in a collaborative, government environment with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of experience in a state insurance department, public accounting firm or similar audit entity.
• Active CPA, AFE, or CFE designation required.

Responsibilities

• Lead level work monitoring solvency and regulatory compliance for Maryland insurers.
• Perform in-depth analyses of insurers’ annual and quarterly statements and filings.
• Review the work of assigned Financial Analysts and address areas of concern.
