Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking Investigators for the Office of Inspector General's Sexual Allegations Unit. The role involves conducting in-depth investigations into sexual abuse or harassment of CPS students, reporting findings, and coordinating with multiple CPS offices and external agencies. It is a full-time, exempt position in Chicago.

The team works to protect students, uphold district policies, and ensure safety while handling highly sensitive information and complex cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in positions requiring fact-finding, investigative research, data analysis, and/or reporting work.
• Experience investigating sexual misconduct, particularly child sexual abuse or sexual harassment, and performing field work.

Responsibilities

• Interview complainants, witnesses, and employees to gather facts for investigations.
• Obtain evidence through site visits, written requests, subpoenas, surveillance, and cyber analysis; coordinate with other departments.
• Prepare well-written reports of investigation activities.
• Examine and analyze work records and related documents.
• Prepare and coordinate investigative plans.
• Collaborate with other investigative staff to conduct complex investigations.
• Update and maintain caseloads and files.
• Coordinate with CPS’ Law, Safety and Security and Title IX Offices to ensure student safety and services.
• Testify in court and hearings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
