Job summary

Pierce County is seeking a skilled Investigator/Process Server for a full-time role in Tacoma with limited remote work. You will investigate all case types represented by the Department of Assigned Counsel and the Public Defense Conflict Office, drafting precise reports and coordinating with attorneys and clients.

You must be licensed as a Washington State Private Investigator or able to obtain certification, be able to drive, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must have strong investigative and writing skills.
• Ability to interview witnesses and review reports.
• Ple​ase have or be able to obtain a Washington State PI license.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review reports; investigate, interview witnesses, gather documents.
• Investigate all case types as assigned by the department.
• Serve subpoenas and other required documents on witnesses.
• Write detailed reports and testify in court when required.
• Prepare and maintain case files and mitigation reports.
