Job Summary
The Child Welfare Investigative Specialist investigates reports of criminal conduct involving allegations of felony child abuse and/or neglect, which may have resulted in serious injury or death of a child. Responsibilities include conducting home visits, documenting interviews, testifying in court, and assisting staff with registries and databases. The role requires independent judgment within supervision and adherence to county investigation protocols.

Employment is contingent upon passing a background check. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card are required. In-state travel and use of personal transportation may be necessary, with mileage reimbursement possible.
