Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Career Service Inspector in the Office of the Inspector General to conduct and lead complex investigations into waste, fraud, abuse, and misconduct. The role covers internal affairs, public corruption, and whistleblower cases across the region.

The incumbent reports to the Office of the Inspector General and will ensure investigative procedures, interviews, and final reports align with directives and policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Correctional Officer, Correctional Probation Officer Certification.
• Must possess at least three (3) years of full-time experience as a Correctional Officer or Correctional Probation Officer.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess one (1) years of investigative experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct/lead complex investigations involving waste, fraud and abuse.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of investigations and final reports.
• Plan, lead and conduct internal affairs, financial and public corruption investigations.
• Coordinate whistleblower reviews and investigations with IG and other offices.
