Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL) seeks a dedicated Investigator 3 for its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within the Investigations Division. The Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL) is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, solution-oriented, and enthusiastic professional to join our regulatory department and serve as an Investigator 3 within Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the DIAL Investigations Division.
DIAL’s mission is Achieve Compliance through Education, Regulation, and Due Process for a Safe and Healthy Iowa. Our goal is to be an effective, efficient and approachable regulatory agency. To accomplish our Mission, the individual selected for this position will assist the Iowa Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in maintaining the integrity of the Iowa Medicaid program and the provision of Medicaid services by investigating allegations of fraud committed against the Iowa Medicaid program, fraudulent activities, and patient abuse pertaining to the provision of Medicaid goods and services.
DIAL is a multifaceted regulatory agency charged with protecting the health, safety, and well-being of Iowans, and is comprised of eight core operational divisions: Administrative Hearings, Building & Construction, Health & Safety, Investigations, Labor/OSHA, Licensing, Workers’ Compensation, and Administration.
The successful candidate for this position is a trustworthy, ethical, reliable, and tenacious individual with experience conducting criminal investigations. The position reports directly to the Bureau Chief of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and will be home-domiciled in Polk County or bordering/surrounding counties.

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in law enforcement, corrections, criminology, police science, accounting, finance or law and experience equal to two years of full-time work in law enforcement, corrections or criminal investigation;
OR
graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in an area not listed above and experience equal to three years of qualifying work;
OR
a combination of education and experience, substituting one year of qualifying full-time experience for each thirty semester hours of general college or university coursework;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the State executive branch that includes experience equal to twelve months of full-time work as an Investigator 1 or 2, or in a comparable position involving investigative work experience.
