Job summary

State of Alaska is seeking an investigator to conduct fraud investigations related to Public Assistance Programs across Alaska. You will prepare cases for prosecutions and administrative hearings, and represent the department in hearings and court proceedings.

The role requires frequent travel within Alaska and may be located in Fairbanks or Anchorage. A valid Alaska driver’s license is required and there is potential for hybrid telework after probation.

Job description

This position is open to Alaskan Residents only.

This position is currently located in Fairbanks.

The position may be in Anchorage or Fairbanks, depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will conduct investigations into allegations of fraud by applicants and recipients of Public Assistance Programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Alaska Temporary Assistance Program, Adult Public Assistance Program, and Medicaid Programs. You will prepare cases for criminal prosecution and Administrative Disqualification Hearings.

You will represent the Department in cases presented for Administrative Disqualification Hearings or in criminal proceedings. This position will require phone and in-person contact with witnesses, public assistance recipients, and individuals accused of fraud.

This position requires frequent travel within the State of Alaska.

Definitions:
