Job summary

The Ohio Lottery Commission in Northfield, OH is seeking an Investigator to enforce regulatory compliance at MGM Northfield Park. You will perform background investigations, oversee licensing for racino staff, and ensure adherence to laws and internal procedures while providing customer service to patrons and staff.

The role requires investigative experience or related training, evening to overnight shifts, and a commitment to integrity and accuracy in surveillance and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 30 months training or 30 months investigative experience with related duties; valid driver's license.
  • Associate core program in law enforcement/criminal justice or equivalent with 12 months investigations/inspections; valid license.
  • Investigator experience as Investigator Assistant or equivalent with related violations exposure; valid license.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment as noted.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory role to ensure racino follows rules, regulations, laws, and SOPs.
  • Ensure operations comply with statutory and administrative provisions.
  • Respond to on-site incidents, complete reports, and maintain a compliance database.
  • Conduct background investigations on racino employees and facilitate licensing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and racino staff.
  • Observe Intercept process for winners and create Intercept Accounts.
  • Assist patrons enrolling in Time Out Ohio Program and provide program info.
  • Use surveillance equipment and ensure proper coverage of Video Lottery Terminals.
  • Monitor floor drops/moves and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Verify Video Lottery Terminals upon receipt and removal; confirm serial numbers.

Responsibilities
  • This position is a regulatory position.
  • Work in a regulatory capacity and ensure the racino is following rules, regulations, laws and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure racino operations comply with all statutory and administrative provisions.
  • Respond to incidents occurring on site, complete reports and maintain a compliance database for reports of suspicious activity, unusual incidents, and all other reportable incidents.
  • Complete background investigations on racino employees.
  • Facilitate the licensing process for racino gaming employees.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and racino staff.
  • Observe Intercept process for winners and create Intercept Accounts.
  • Assist patrons enroll in the Time Out Ohio Program and provide program information.
  • Use surveillance equipment and ensure proper surveillance coverage of all Video Lottery Terminals in the racino facility.
  • Monitor the floor Drop and ensure compliance with established procedure.
  • Monitor all Video Lottery Terminal floor moves and ensure compliance with established procedure.
  • Receive incoming Video Lottery Terminals and verify shipping security seals, serial numbers, description of the machines, and manufacturer name.
  • Verify Video Lottery Terminals to be removed and confirm manufacturer name and serial number.
  • Work as a team player to assist the team in completing its goals and objectives.
  • Learn to use Lottery-specific software applications for daily job responsibilities.
  • Work in a location that is open 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
  • Perform other duties and work on special projects.

Qualifications
  • 30 months training or 30 months investigative experience with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license.
  • Or Completion of associate core program in law enforcement, criminal justice or in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 months experience conducting investigations &/or inspections; valid driver’s license.
  • Or 30 months training or 30 months experience as Investigator Assistant, 26210 with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
