Job summary

Condé Nast’s WIRED is seeking a reporter to cover tech companies and their influence, delivering high-impact stories for the business desk. The role focuses on Big Tech, with a hybrid in-office pattern (3 days/week) and options in New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.

You will bring a deep slate of sources, produce exclusives, and advance newsroom priorities. The successful candidate will have extensive experience and a demonstrated portfolio in tech reporting, with FOIA and public records

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a technology or business journalist with investigative reporting on tech companies.
• Proven track record of scoops and breaking news on a beat.
• Clear, engaging, jargon-free writing style.

Responsibilities

• Break news consistently and deliver scoops.
• Report and write at least eight stories per month, mixing quick pieces with in-depth investigations.
• Pitch, report, and write stories on tech companies and their influence.
• Collaborate with the business desk and WIRED newsroom colleagues.
• Coordinate with audio, video, events, and social teams to tell stories across platforms.
• Work with global markets on relevant stories or packages.
• Handle additional projects and assignments as needed.
