Job summary

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is seeking a Special Agent for the Investigative Services - Pee Dee Regional Office. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree, demonstrates integrity, and has a strong public service mindset.

Responsibilities include leading complex investigations, interviewing suspects and witnesses, preparing detailed reports, providing testimony, and coordinating with other agencies. Overnight travel and 24-hour readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must be a certified Class I Law Enforcement Officer through the SC Criminal Justice Academy or hold a certification from another state/federal law enforcement training academy.
• Minimum of two (2) years of law enforcement experience.
• Position requires overnight travel and 24-hour emergency call.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to listed SC counties.
• Must meet physical requirements of a Class I officer and be ready for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Initiate cases and obtain material facts, evidence, and statements.
• Prepare accurate reports, interviews, affidavits, and other legal documents.
• Present findings in court through testimony as required.
• Manage case files and ensure timely administrative tasks in SCEIS.
• Coordinate with other agencies and support local law enforcement and program areas.
