Job summary

City of South Jordan Police Department seeks a Full-Time Criminal Investigative Analyst to support investigations through intelligence analysis, digital evidence review, research, and information sharing.

The role involves analyzing data from reports and databases, identifying leads, preparing briefs for detectives and partners, and training on database use and procedures. Strong collaboration with law enforcement teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• At least two years of related analytical, administrative, criminal justice, research, or law-enforcement experience.
• Must obtain Bureau of Criminal Identification certification within six months of hire.
• Must obtain Digital Forensic Download certification within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Analyze criminal intelligence from reports, databases, social media, centers, and other sources.
• Identify trends, patterns, associations, and investigative leads for investigations and crime prevention.
• Prepare intelligence reports, summaries, analytical products, and briefings for detectives, officers, supervisors, prosecutors, and partners.
• Perform digital forensic downloads and review digital evidence per laws and procedures.
• Maintain and audit law-enforcement databases and ensure proper access and use.
• Provide training and updates on databases, intelligence resources, and procedures.
• Coordinate with law-enforcement and intelligence partners to exchange information and support investigations.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure sharing only with authorized individuals.
