Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Temporary Employee Relations Specialist (Investigations) to handle investigations related to serious misconduct and consult on performance topics. This exempt temporary role reports to the Sr.

HR Director of Employee Relations and may require some evenings and weekend hours, with occasional offsite camp rotation. Responsibilities include leading investigations, coordinating with Legal, guiding managers on corrective actions, and maintaining data systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of employee relations experience.
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, unemployment, and labor relations.
  • Excellent negotiation and relational skills with sound judgment and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues daily and maintain organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace misconduct, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and write clear summaries and proposals.
  • Consult with Legal to ensure proper investigation procedures.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance and conduct management in line with policies.
  • Monitor investigation tracker and complaint data systems and prepare timely reports.
  • Provide accurate legal and handbook information to staff in collaboration with counsel.
  • Offer conflict resolution support and mediation tailored to each scenario.
