University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Investigational Drug Services. The role ensures proper handling, storage, and distribution of investigational drugs in line with sponsor requirements and regulatory standards.

The incumbent leads IDS staff, maintains records, and coordinates with study monitors and departments. The position emphasizes education, quality assurance, and adherence to USP / guidelines, with responsibilities spanning prescribing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or Pharm D. degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution required.
• Post graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a registered pharmacist practicing in a hospital or industry setting.
• Experience in handling investigational drugs may substitute the experience as a registered pharmacist.
• Must be licensed with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Assure proper handling and storage of investigational drugs in accordance with sponsor requirements and policies.
• Lead and verify duties of supportive personnel in IDS to ensure accurate distribution to patients.
• Invoicing departments and ensuring proper payment for IDS services.
