Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Inventory Specialist/Manager to take full ownership of our inventory process within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing inventory from receiving parts to issuing them for production, conducting regular inventory counts, and maintaining accurate records. When inventory responsibilities are completed, this individual will also assist with shipping and general warehouse operations. The ideal candidate takes initiative, thrives in a hands-on environment, and enjoys keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Ownership
  • Receive and process incoming materials, including verifying, labeling, and organizing parts.
  • Maintain and improve systems for inventory tracking, part categorization, and retrieval.
  • Issue materials to production as needed with complete accuracy and documentation.
  • Lead and execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to maintain precise inventory levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing manager and production teams to align inventory with job schedules.
  • Operational Support
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or boom cranes to move large or heavy parts as needed.
  • Transfer materials to production and designated areas efficiently and safely.
  • Support daily shipping tasks such as picking, packing, weighing, and labeling items for outbound delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse to support safety and productivity.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication
  • Coordinate with the shipping/receiving supervisor, Production manager, Controller, and purchasing team to streamline materials flow.
  • Help onboard and train new team members in inventory and material handling practices.
  • Serve as a hands-on resource to support production and warehouse operations as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory management or warehouse operations (minimum 1-2 years)
  • Ability to work independently and "own" processes from start to finish
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with inventory systems, databases, and documentation procedures
  • Strong communication skills; able to read and interpret specs and work instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a physically demanding environment
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in warehouse operations or inventory management required.
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory software systems
  • Leadership or coordination experience in a warehouse or inventory team
  • Certification or experience as a forklift operator preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Standing for up to 10 hours/day on a concrete floor
  • Regular bending, lifting, climbing, and twisting
  • Use of PPE including respirators, eye protection, and hearing protection
  • Ability to safely handle and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs
